Fonthill Castle Case Study | Graphic Research for Professor James W. Givens
One year's experience of graphic research for an upcoming book by Professor James Givens on room making. My responsibilities include the creation of a detailed SketchUp model of Fonthill Castle as-built, deducting spatial information from pre-existing hand-drawn plans and sections, as well as photographs. This model will be used to create 3D views of this fascinating structure to help better represent the building's complex spatial experience and illustrate the ideas Professor Givens puts forth in his writing. It is the only known 3D representation of the castle to date.
Located in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, and completed in 1910, Fonthill Castle is the former home of archaeologist, historian, and ceramist Henry Chapman Mercer. Presently it is open to the public as Fonthill Museum, administered by the Bucks County Historical Society.

Comprehensive Design Studio | Reframing Housing [Eugene, OR]
My final design studio in pursuit of a Bachelor's of Architecture from University of Oregon. Inspired by Daniel Parolek's concept of "Missing Middle Housing", this project aims to increase the diversity of housing options available to better suit a diversity of household types, addressing the shortcomings of current housing production in Eugene, Oregon. Considerations include; post-pandemic housing, climate adaptive and resilient planning, equity and affordability, and urban growth under Oregon's HB 2001 (single family zoning ban). More specifically this project investigates residential infill at a neighborhood scale, increasing the density of a typical Eugene block while also increasing its sustainable livability. By converting an impassible and underutilized alley space into an urban greenway the block becomes interconnected into the surrounding neighborhood and larger city while offering residents a place to walk, bike, socialize, shop, eat, and play.
